ICD-10-PCS codes are mandated by HIPAA regulations for reporting medical procedures in the acute hospital setting. Each new release of ICD-10-PCS codes is valid from October 1st to September 30th of the following year. Using current ICD-10-PCS codes reduces claim delays and denials and improves reimbursement.
